unrealistic mirror view

This post shows a new campaign from Sweden from the Anorexi/Bulimi-Kontakt. The ad shows a young woman seeing a unrealistic mirror view. At first sight the ad looks good but I have some doubts so I asked Lucy Serpell from the Eating Disorders Resources blog what see thinks about this campaign:

I think it's quite a good ad, although most people with eating disorders don't literally see themselves as fat when they are actually thin. But it is true for some people, and it is certainly a powerful ad which puts the point across. So from the awareness raising point of view I like it, even if it's not entirely accurate. At least it doesn't suggest that people with eating disorders are just silly girls who want to look like supermodels, which seems to be quite a prevalent view in the media
