Drug scandal sours Japanese sumo

There is turmoil in Japan in the sport of sumo, with the head of the sport quitting and two Russian wrestlers banned after testing positive for drugs.

The two Russian wrestlers who are brothers have denied using marijuana, but they have been kicked out of the ancient sport after testing positive for the drug.

Their expulsion has also claimed the head of the sumo association, former wrestler Kitanoumi Toshimitsu.

He has resigned after a series of scandals that have rocked the sport, including the death of a teenage wrestler after being beaten by his trainer and stable mates.

Last year one of the sport's highest ranking names cause controversy when he claimed to have been injured, but was filmed playing soccer in his home country Mongolia.
