A Sydney court has heard two people convicted of holding women as sex slaves have committed crimes that could lead to a 25-year jail sentence.
Trevor McIvor, 60, and his 42-year-old partner, Kanokporn Tanuchit, were charged with 32 offences after police found four Thai women in a room underneath a Fairfield brothel, in western Sydney, in 2006.
The women were being held to contracts against their will.
In sentencing submissions today, a court has heard the couple committed heinous crimes that involved possessing and using slaves and could lead to a maximum jail term of 25 years.
A victim's impact statement from one of the women describes how she was forced to have sex with drug addicts, even when she was sick.
